Who Took the Maximum Wickets in Big Bash League – Records and Statistics

Get the latest Big Bash League player stats. We’ll give you a rundown of the best wicket-takers in BBL history. Here’s a Look Down Below

The Massive Bash League has gotten off to a great start with runs, powerful smashes, and big hits, but let’s remember the often-overlooked bowlers. In Twenty-20 cricket, players who can maintain their composure when the ball is consistently being hit out of the park deserve praise for their skill set. And respect is something we at Bleacher Report value. So far, these are the five best bowlers in the BBL.

Sean Abbott (125 Wicket)

Australia’s all-around bowling ace Sean Abbott sits atop the list. Abbott has been the most consistent performer and has had the best overall season. Since 2011, the 30-year-BBL old’s career has seen him split time between the Sydney Sixers and the Sydney Thunder. To date, he has appeared in 94 games, collecting 125 wickets at an average of 20.87 while maintaining an economy rate of 8.47. Abbott has taken one five-wicket haul and three four-wicket hauls for the best bowling figure of 5/16.

Kane Richardson (117 Wicket)

Kane Richardson, an Australian veteran pacer, is also included. The 31-year-old is a mainstay in both the Australian red-ball and white-ball squads. He played for the Adelaide Strikers and the Melbourne Renegades during his BBL career. After 90 matches, Richardson has 117 wickets, an economy rate of 7.87, a strike rate of 16.6, and the best bowling figure of 4/22.

Ben Laughlin (111 Wicket)

Australia’s former pacer Ben Laughlin has taken the 4th-most wickets in the BBL. He debuted in the Big Bash League in 2011 for the Adelaide Strikers. Subsequently, he spent time with the Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat up through the 2021 season. He was used sparingly during the 202122 campaigns. Laughlin has bowled in 96 games, accumulating 111 wickets at an average of 24.26 and an economy rate of 8.08. He has taken two 4-wicket hauls, with the best figure of 4-26.

Ben Dwarshuis (102)

Ben Dwarshuis, a left-handed pacer from Australia, is one of the candidates. Dwarshuis has been with the same BBL team, the Sydney Sixes, since he made his debut there in 2014. With an economy rate of 8.16 and an average of 22.96, the left-armer has taken 102 wickets in 83 career BBL matches.
