The last match of the two-match Test series (IND vs. BAN) between India and Bangladesh was played in Kanpur, in which the host team won by 7 wickets. With this win, the Indian team clean-swept the two-match Test series 2-0. Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged the Player of the Series in this series. With this, he has come jointly in first place in terms of winning the most Player of the Series awards in Test cricket history.
Talking more about the India vs. Bangladesh series, India won the first match played in Chennai by 280 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged the Player of the Match in that match. Apart from this, in the second match, India won by 7 wickets and Yashasvi Jaiswal was adjudged the Player of the Match. Apart from this, Ravichandran Ashwin (114 runs and 11 wickets) got the Player of the Series award for his excellent performance with both bat and ball in this two-match series.

Ravichandran Ashwin equalled Muralitharan in terms of winning the most Player of the Series awards in Test cricket
Ravichandran Ashwin won the 11th Player of the Series award of his Test career in the Test series played against Bangladesh. With this, he has equalled former Sri Lankan legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan in terms of winning the most Player of the Series awards in Test cricket.
Muralidaran played a total of 62 series in his Test cricket career, in which he was selected Player of the Series 11 times. However, Ashwin has so far played 42 series in his Test career, in which he has equalled Muralitharan’s record. Now, with just one more Player of the Series award, Ashwin will break the record of the Sri Lankan legend and reach the first position in this matter.
