Ramakrishna Ghosh Ruled Out of the Remainder of IPL 2026
The Chennai Super Kings have announced that they will no longer be using the services of fast bowling all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh in the remaining matches of IPL 2026 after he sustained an injury in the team’s match against the Mumbai Indians, which will keep him out for the remainder of the tournament.
He suffered the injury while fielding he was injured during the third over and could be seen limping off the field after the inning.
No replacement has been named by the franchise yet, but this news, at such a crucial time in the tournament, has come as a complete shock to the team.
Became a ‘Match-Winner’ in His Very Debut Match
In his first match in the IPL, Ramakrishna Ghosh made a lasting impression. He bowled just three overs, conceded 24 runs and took the prized wicket of a dangerous batsman, Suryakumar Yadav.
In addition to being an exceptional bowler, Ghosh also demonstrated great agility in the field by taking an outstanding catch (to dismiss Will Jacks) – a moment that changed the course of the game.

Chennai Reeling Under the Impact of Injuries
The injury-striken Chennai Super Kings have found that luck has left them completely this season, with so many key players on the sidelines due to injury that it has become a nightmare for management to choose a playing eleven for games now that they have suffered Nathan Ellis’s loss of Khaleel Ahmed, and will also see Ayush Mhatre walk away from the team due to injuries and not rejoining after withdrawl from the match and continue onwards.
Additionally, MS Dhoni the former captain has yet to make an appearance in any matches because of his fitness and this has severely undermined the team’s experience.
Before the sudden injury on the part of Ramakrishna Ghosh, who looked like he was going to take the tournament by storm; now, the bowling combination for Chennai looks like it will totally collapse and Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will have to find a way out of a huge crisis at such an important time in the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings’ Path to the Playoffs Becomes Even More Arduous
