The present Indian captain has appeared in 39 T20 World Cup matches so far. Having made his debut against South Africa in the shortest format of the game during the inaugural edition of the multination tournament held in South Africa in 2007 Rohit Sharma has appeared in every T20 World Cup edition. Although he has been a consistent part of the team since the first edition the right-hander hasn’t been able to make a significant contribution with the bat which has been one of the reasons why India has failed to win its second World Cup title in the T20 format.

Shakib Al Hasan

The former Bangladesh captain has been an integral part of the team in all three formats of the game since the early 2000s. If we talk specifically about the T20 World Cup then the left-hander has appeared in 36 games in the showpiece event which is the most by a Bangladeshi player.. Shakib also led the team during the 2022 T29 World Cup held in Australia and almost guided the team to a spot in the top four only to falter against Pakistan in a must-win game.

Tilakaratne Dilshan

The former Sri Lankan batter has played 35 games in the T20 World Cup. Dilshan played a crucial role in helping Sri Lanka win the T20 World Cup 2014 held in Bangladesh where the Lasith Malinga-led side defeated India comprehensively in the final. The right-hander was also instrumental in the island nation’s successful run till the final of the T20 World Cup 2009 held in England where the team fell short in the final against Pakistan.

Dwayne Bravo

The former West Indies all-rounder has been a part of 34 World Cup games in the T20 format. Bravo who is known for his big-hitting abilities along with his accurate bowling in the death overs was a vital part of the team during their successful run in the 2012 and 2016 World Cup where they ended up winning the titles after beating Sri Lanka and England in the final respectively. DJ Bravo as he is famously known in the world of cricket formed the core of experienced West Indies players which included the likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Darren Sammy.

Shahid Afridi

The former Pakistan all-rounder who was known for his explosive batting in all three formats of the game featured in 34 World Cup games for his country in a career that spanned from 2007 to 2016. In addition to his big-hitting abilities lower down the order Afridi also bowled some handy spells with the ball which changed the complexion of the game.
