The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is just a few days away and preparations for the same are in full swing with teams announcing their squad for the multination tournament. A lot of things play a crucial role in deciding the outcome of the match and one of them are the venues where the tournament takes place.

Central Broward Park, Lauderhill, Florida, USA
Central Broward Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida is one of the three venues selected to host the matches of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Known historically to be a high-scoring venue the stadium hosted the high-scoring first T20I of the two-match series between West Indies and India in 2016 which the MS Dhoni-led side lost by one run on the last ball of the match. Since then the ground has hosted various CPL and international T20 matches. Central Broward Park hosted its first T20 International in 2010 between New Zealand and Sri Lanka and has been the center for many historical innings in the shortest format which includes KL Rahul’s fighting knock of 110 which made him only the second Indian to score a century in all three formats of the game.
Talking about the pitch at Broward Park, the surface generally tends to assist the batters with good bounce and carry which results in high-scoring matches.
Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, Long Island, New York, USA
The under-construction Stadium was identified as one of the venues for the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in the USA and West Indies in June. In September 2023 the ICC ordered the construction of a 34000 capacity stadium in Eisenhower Park on Long Island.

Grand Prairie Stadium, Grand Prairie, Texas, USA
The stadium with the capacity of accommodating 7000 spectators has the ability to expand its capacity to 15000. Built with world-class facilities at its disposal the pitch of the stadium has been assisting the batters. Having said that the surface offers a bit of assistance for the bowlers with the new ball. The team that wins the toss prefers to chase at this ground.

Interesting facts about the venues
The venues in the United States of America to be used during the T20 World Cup have historically been high scoring which was evident during the first season of the country’s premier domestic T20 competition held in June- July last year with totals ranging between 180-200 consistently. As far as the venues in the West Indies are concerned the group of islands have a good combination of grounds which assists both batters and bowlers. Moreover, slow pitches that will be on offer in the West Indies along with small grounds will make up for a good battle between bat and ball. Dew will also play a major role in matches scheduled to be held during the night which might favour the batters.
