Netherlands: 39/10 vs Sri Lanka (2014 T20 World Cup)

The Netherlands has had a peculiar journey in the T20 World Cup so far from defeating South Africa and England to registering the lowest total by a team in T20 World Cup during the 2014 T20 World Cup held in Bangladesh. The team has seen it all. Talking about that particular match the Dutch were bowled out for 39 against Sri Lanka. Batting first Netherlands got off to a horrible start as the team lost four wickets for nine runs which soon became 25-5 and were eventually bowled out for 39. Ajantha Mendis and Angelo Mathews were the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers with three wickets each. The duo was well supported by Nuwan Kulasekara and Lasith Malinga who picked up one and two wickets respectively.

Netherlands: 44/10 vs Sri Lanka (2021 T20 World Cup)

Holland also has the second-lowest team total registered to its name regarding the T20 World Cup. The Dutch were yet again bowled out for 44 runs against Sri Lanka a team against which it registered the lowest team total in 2014. The demolition on this occasion occurred in Sharjah in the first round of the 2021 T20 World Cup held in UAE and Oman. Sri Lanka’s attack was led by fast bowler Lahiru Kumara who picked up three wickets in a performance that broke the back of Netharlands’ batting lineup as the entire team was bundled out for 44 runs in 10 overs. Other than Kumara the spin-bowling duo of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana picked up five wickets between them.

West Indies: 55/10 vs England (2021 T20 World Cup)

West Indies had a terrible start to their T20 World Cup campaign 2021 as the Kieron Pollard-led side was bowled out for 55 runs in their opening match against England. A team that had the likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, and Dwayne Bravo at its disposal managed to play only 14.2 overs. Talking about England’s bowling Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers as the leg spinner picked up four wickets giving away just two runs and played a crucial role in restricting West Indies to a low score.

New Zealand: 60/10 vs Sri Lanka (2014 T20 World Cup)

Making its third appearance in the list is Sri Lanka for an exceptional bowling performance against New Zealand during the 2014 T20 World held in Bangladesh. Chasing a low total against Sri Lanka New Zealand was bowled out for 60 runs giving Sri Lanka a hard-fought win in a must-win encounter to keep their hopes of making it to the top four. Sri Lanka’s bowling was led by experienced left-arm spinner Rangana Herath who picked up five wickets after conceding just three runs and also assisted in a coupe of runouts which helped Sri Lanka register a memorable win in the tournament.

Scotland: 60/10 vs Afghanistan (2021 T20 World Cup)

Scotland was bowled out for 60 runs against Afghanistan in the 2021 T20 World Cup which took place in UAE and Oman. Batting first Scotland seemed helpless against a potent spin bowling lineup that Afghanistan possessed with the likes of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khana part of the team. The duo claimed nine wickets between them as Scotland fell short in the chase of 191 runs helping the Mohammed Nabi-led side record a comprehensive 130-run victory.
