Since then, various countries have established their own Twenty20 leagues in order to increase revenue and introduce new cricketers. However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Big Bash League (BBL) are the best and most exciting T20 leagues in the world when particularly in comparison to the others.
The Indian Premier League is basically played in India, whereas the Big Bash League is played in Australia. The Origin
IPL: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is an annual professional T20 cricket league hosted in India. The IPL was established in 2007 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The league is contested by eight franchise teams from eight Indian cities. Every year, the Indian T20 League is held between the months of March and May.
BBL: The Big Bash League (BBL), also known as the KFC Big Bash League or simply Big Bash, is an annual professional T20 cricket league hosted in Australia. In 2011, Cricket Australia formed the franchise-based league. BBL, like IPL, has eight franchise teams based in eight different Australian cities. BBL matches are typically held in Australia mostly during summer months of December, January, and February.
Team Composition
IPL: The IPL brings together the best cricketers from around the world to play for their teams and rejoice cricket. In the IPL, teams must consist of 18 to 25 players, with a maximum of 8 foreign players. A team’s starting XI can have no more than four foreign players. An Under-19 player cannot be selected unless he has played first-class or List-A cricket. The squad’s salary cap should not exceed INR 850 million.
BBL: The BBL allows each franchise to have a maximum of 19 players under contract in their squad for the duration of the season. The roster should include two rookie deal and six international players. Only three foreign players may be included in the starting XI for any given match. Each team may also include up to two foreign cricketers as substitutions if the original foreign players are injured or withdraw from the game.
