IPL 2025 Playoffs Schedule: The wait for the IPL 2025 playoffs is now over, as the schedule has been officially announced. This time the grand final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur will host some crucial knockout matches. The league confirmed this update through an official press release on Tuesday, 20 May.

Qualifier 1 and Eliminator in Mullanpur, Ahmedabad gets the honour of the IPL Final

Mullanpur stadium has got the responsibility of IPL 2025 Qualifier 1, which will be played on Thursday, 29 May. Next day, Friday, 30 May, this stadium will host the Eliminator match. After that, the turn will come to Ahmedabad, where Qualifier 2 will be held on Sunday, 1 June, and finally the grand finale will be played there on Tuesday, 3 June.

Hyderabad and Kolkata were included in the first plan

According to the initial schedule, Hyderabad and Kolkata were to get the hosting rights of the playoffs and the final. But after the tournament was suspended for a week, new venues were finalised. The IPL Governing Council took this decision keeping in mind the weather and other practical factors.

Ahmedabad will witness the final for the third time

After 2022 and 2023, Ahmedabad will host the IPL final for the third time. This stadium is now counted among the most iconic venues of the IPL. Similarly, Chandigarh’s Mullanpur stadium will be a part of such a big match for the first time, which will be very special for North Indian fans.

An extra hour will be available for ramming matches as well

The league has confirmed that not just the playoffs, but the remaining league matches of the season will also be given an extra hour of time. This move has been made to ensure proper completion of matches, especially to tackle weather-related delays.

Bengaluru rain-affected schedule

The match between RCB and SRH, which was to be held in Bengaluru on Friday, 23 May, has now been shifted to Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The RCB vs KKR match, which was scheduled for Saturday, 17 May, was already cancelled due to the continuous rain in Bengaluru for the last few days.

Back-to-back matches will be played in Lucknow

RCB will now play two consecutive matches in Lucknow—the first against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 23 May, and the second against Lucknow Super Giants on 27 May. RCB has already qualified for the playoffs, along with them Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings have also made their place in the top four.
