Ireland and South Africa are set to play two T20Is and three ODIs in the months of September and October 2024 in the United Arab Emirates.
As per the Ireland vs South Africa schedule, all the matches will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
While South Africa are currently ranked sixth in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings, Ireland are placed 11th.
Ireland last featured in the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the United States and the West Indies where they faced three losses while one game was abandoned, finishing at the bottom of the Group A table.
On the other hand, South Africa will once again be led by Aiden Markram in the upcoming two-match T20I series in Abu Dhabi. Jason Smith, Nqaba Peter and Amdile Simelane are some of the fresh faces included in South Africa’s T20I squad.
Meanwhile, Proteas have rested the likes of Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, Tabraiz Shamsi and Kagiso Rabada for the forthcoming T20I series against Ireland.
South Africa, who lost the ODI series against Afghanistan in the UAE, will be looking to finish their UAE tour by defeating Ireland in the upcoming white-ball matches.
Temba Bavuma will captain South Africa’s ODI team, veteran cricketer Paul Stirling will lead the side for Ireland in the white-ball series against South Africa.

The Ireland vs South Africa head-to-head in T20 cricket favours the Proteas. South Africa have won all the five T20s against Ireland in international cricket.
The last time these two sides met, South Africa registered a 2-0 series win over Ireland in a two-match series in Bristol in August 2022.

Ireland and South Africa have played three bilateral ODI series. The first ever ODI series was played in 2007, then in 2016-17, both which the Proteas won. However, the three-match ODI series played in 2021 was tied 1-1.
Overall, both nations have played eight one-day internationals. Proteas have won six, whereas Ireland have just one victory to their name.
