Ireland Cricket Team Records and Statistics: Most T20i Runs Scored

A Twenty20 International puts two members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from various nations against one another (T20I)

Since their first match in 2006, 63 players have competed for Ireland in Day Internationals (ODIs). One-day internationals, as defined by the International Cricket Council, are international cricket matches between two representative teams, each of which holds ODI status (ICC). An ODI differs from a Test match by having a fixed number of overs allotted to each team and only allowing each team to play one inning. Players who participated in games and received several initial ODI call-ups are listed alphabetically by surname.

Ireland has competed in 179 one-day internationals, winning 74, losing 92, drawing three, and having 10 games end in a tie. Ireland’s debut ODI match was on June 13, 2006, against England. Ireland lost the match by a margin of 38 runs, even though it gained attention and was played in front of a crowded house at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast. a variation of cricket where each team gets a maximum of 20 overs to bat. The competitions are of the highest T20 standard and are first-rate. Twenty20 cricket rules are followed during the play of the match. Australia and New Zealand played in the first Twenty20 International match between two men’s teams on February 17, 2005.

P Stirling has a strike rate of 136.7 and an average of 25.35 in 1057 T20 balls. A total of 218 boundaries, including 166 fours and 52 sixes, were struck by Paul Stirling in T20.

O’Brien, Kevin

With a magnificent performance against England on a steamy March evening in Bangalore, Kevin O’Brien cemented his reputation as an Irish cricket great. His 50-ball century—the quickest in World Cup history—included six massive sixes and assisted his team in clinching a record three-wicket victory when they entered the game at 106-4 and then 111-5 in pursuit of England’s 327. Ireland’s requests for more chances against nations who play Test cricket took on a new sense of urgency after the highest-scoring run chase in World Cup history.

Andrew Balbirnie

Andrew Balbirnie, who was already one of Ireland’s finest batters at No. 3, improved even more with the bat after being elected captain across all formats in the latter part of 2019. Balbirnie is a fluid player who excels against spin bowling despite his lack of strength. His characteristic shot is a strong sweep.

Gary Wilson

A pillar of Ireland’s team, Gary Wilson, enjoyed a successful county career with Surrey for more than ten years before moving to join Derbyshire in 2016, as a growing number of rivals began to overtake the top players in both the bat and the gloves. He played for the county for two seasons before his contract was canceled one year early so he could return to his native Ireland and participate in the country’s newly established first-class competition.

Porterfield, William

While other players like Morgan, Joyce, and Rankin have played sporadically in England, William Porterfield has been a nearly consistent presence in Ireland’s rise in international cricket. He presently has the most runs scored and is on pace to become his country’s first Test captain.

Lorcan Tucker

On September 10, 1996, Irish cricketer Lorcan John Tucker was born. He played for Ireland’s Under-19 cricket squad in the 2016 World Cup. He debuted for Ireland’s cricket squad on the international stage in September 2016. In January 2020, he was awarded one of Cricket Ireland’s 19 core contracts, marking the first time that all contracts were awarded on a full-time basis.

Harry Tector

Since earning a spot on the senior team during the post-Covid era, Harry Tector has quietly built up a remarkable resume. His brothers Jack and Tim all led Ireland at U19 World Cups; he was raised in a cricketing family. Tector scored a chilly 29 not out of 26 balls in 2020 while playing in his third ODI.

Gareth Delany

The highest T20 total for Gareth Delany is 89. G. Delany has five times 30+ and four times 20+ T20 runs, zero T20 centuries, four T20 half-centuries, and no T20 centuries.

George Dockrell

George Dockrell was known as a left-arm spinner with extraordinary talent before he even finished his adolescence. He earned his international debut for Ireland in 2010 when he was just 17 years old. It made his transition from bowling seam to bowling spin at the age of 13 when coach Brian O’Rourke saw him bowling spin in a parking lot while an Ireland age group was touring Wales all the more remarkable.

Niall O’Brien

Ireland’s famous innings was played by left-handed wicketkeeper and batter Niall O’Brien, who is renowned for his grit and persistent chirping behind the wickets. The cornerstone of Ireland’s victory over Pakistan on St. Patrick’s Day in the 2007 World Cup was his superb 72, which accounted for more than three-quarters of Ireland’s runs when he was at the wicket.
