IPL Records and Statistics: Result Records – Narrowest Win Margins by the Wickets

It is commonly known that the IPL is unpredictable right up until the last ball. Below is a list of the top 5 most essential wicket victories in IPL history.

The Indian Cricket League (ICL) was founded in 2007 with funding provided by Zee Entertainment Enterprises. Both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) refused to acknowledge the ICL. The BCCI was displeased that some committee members had been elected to the ICL executive board. The BCCI increased the prize money for their domestic competitions to discourage athletes from joining the ICL, which the organization saw as a breakaway league, and punished those who did so with lifetime bans.

In IPL games, television timeouts are employed in place of a defined period for teams to complete their innings. If the umpires find a group misuses this privilege, they may levy a fine. Each side has a two-and-a-half-minute “strategic timeout” during each inning; the bowling team must use one between the sixth and ninth overs, and the batting team must use one between the lots of the thirteenth and sixteenth overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Los Angeles Knight Riders of Major League Cricket, the Trinidad and Tobago Knight Riders of the Caribbean Premier League, and the upcoming Abu Dhabi Knight Riders of the United Arab Emirates International League T20 all belong to the Knight Riders Group (KRG), which also includes the Kolkata Knight Riders as a cricket franchise. KRG had also invested in a team in Cricket South Africa’s T20 Global League. However, because the board could not reach a broadcasting arrangement, the league was eventually abandoned and replaced with the Mzansi Super League.

Like KRG, other Indian Premier League teams hold T20 franchises abroad or have shown interest in doing so. KRG announced in 2022 that their team would work with Major League Cricket to construct a 10,000-seat venue in Los Angeles (Los Angeles Knight Riders). KRG stated in 2022 that their franchise would collaborate with Major League Cricket to build a ten thousand-seat stadium in Los Angeles (Los Angeles Knight Riders).
