Astonishingly, Gayle scored 175 runs against the Pune Warriors while facing only 66 balls in a 2013 encounter. In Twenty20 cricket, this is the greatest-ever score by one person. Gayle hit 13 fours and 17 sixes to reach this remarkable score. In a Twenty20 match, this is the most sixes a player has ever hit in a single inning. Before the 2012 season, Gayle had a century against Delhi Capitals. His total of 127 runs included 13 sixes and 7 fours. The next instant, he had climbed to the number two slot on the all-time list of players with the most sixes scored in T20 innings. In an Indian Premier League match in 2015, he scored 117 runs while playing for the Mumbai Indians against the Kings XI Punjab. At the Bengaluru M Chinnaswamy Stadium, he smacked 12 sixes in addition to the seven regular boundaries he could hit throughout this inning.

The Eden Gardens in Bangalore played host to an IPL match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 8, 2008. McCullum performed a superb knock, facing 73 bowlers and scoring 158 runs. In the game, he scored heavily by smashing 13 sixes and 10 fours. In that matchup, KKR scored 222 runs. The RCB team responded by bowling themselves out for 82 runs. Finally, KKR won by a score of 140 runs. Man of the Match was awarded to Brendon McCullum.

AB de Villiers

Due to his remarkable record at the batting crease and his violent strokes on the field, AB de Villiers has been dubbed a “god” by his devoted followers. On May 14, 2016, the Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Gujarat Lions in a match. After 20 overs of batting, RCB scored 248 runs. AB de Villiers batted unbeaten for 129 runs off of 52 balls. In his incredible innings, he belted 12 sixes. The Gujarat team was knocked out after scoring 104 out of 249 runs to win. Man of the Match honors went to AB de Villiers for his brilliant performance. De Villiers played 169 games during the Indian Premier League season, scoring 4697 runs at an average of 38.82 and a strike rate of 154.10.
