IPL 2025 – Why Harshal Patel Is Missing From SRH’s Playing XI Against GT: A big match will take place in the IPL 2025 on Sunday, April 6, between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT). This match features the No. 3 and No. 10 ranked teams in IPL 2025, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the bottom, having won just one out of four matches.

Despite having a strong lineup, SRH has struggled, especially with their opening pair, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, failing to perform. They’ve lost 10 wickets in the powerplay, the most in IPL 2025, and their death-overs economy rate is the worst at 16.89.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans (GT) have won two out of three matches, with strong performances, though they still have a few issues to address.
Why Harshal Patel Is Missing From SRH’s Playing XI Against GT
After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, Shubman Gill said that the pitch was made of black soil and would play slowly. He also mentioned that Washington Sundar would make his debut for Gujarat Titans, replacing Arshad Khan in the playing XI. He said:
“We are going to bowl first. Looks like a slowish wicket, different from the previous two games as it’s a black soil surface. Generally it’s a good wicket. We have been playing well, need to adapt to the conditions as soon as possible. I think we had good memories in the past, we are continuing to have good fun. Washington comes in for Arshad Khan.”

SRH captain Pat Cummins also wanted to bowl first in the match, but he was fine with batting first as well. He said:
“We were going to bowl, but more than happy to bat first.”
