Although the two have had contrasting starts to the tournament with India registering a comprehensive victory against Ireland and Pakistan facing a shocking defeat at the hands of the United States of America the match promises to be a keenly contested one with both the teams expected to not give an inch to the other.

The Rohit Sharma-led side had a positive start to their campaign in the T20 World Cup when they beat Ireland without breaking a sweat in New York on a wicket that had something in it for the fast bowlers and the quartet of Bumrah, Siraj, Arshdeep, and Hardik made full use of the conditions that were on offer. Among many positives for the Men in Blue one of the biggest was Hardik Pandya’s bowling. The fast-bowling all-rounder was instrumental with the ball and played a crucial role in India’s win by picking up wickets in the middle order.
Another thing that the captain and team management would be happy about is the form of Rishabh Pant as the left-hander has been given the new role of batting at number three with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma opening the innings. Pant has emerged as a potent left-handed attacking option in the top order which gives India flexibility in the batting department.

The Babar Azam-led side has been going through a rough pack in the last month or so with a series loss to England before the start of the T20 World Cup followed by an embarrassing loss against the USA in the opening match of the tournament. The Men in Green have a lot to ponder upon before the match against India. It is sort of a do-or-die match for Pakistan as a loss against India would make things very tough for them going ahead in the tournament.
One of the biggest concerns for Pakistan is the form of their batters that hasn’t been as per expectation which is one of the reasons why the team struggled against the American bowlers. Apart from a sorry batting show Pakistan’s bowling wasn’t great either with Shaheen Afridi failing to swing the ball and leg spinner Shadab Khgan not being able to bowl on good lengths the Pakistani bowling looked flat.
