The surface of the pitch has been receiving a lot of criticism for its uneven bounce and has even seen players getting injured.
Low-Scoring Matches Raise Concerns
During the game between India and Ireland, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and keeper-batter Rishabh Pant faced a lot of blows on the board and it saw India’s captain walking off the field as retired hurt. On the other hand, Pant looked in a lot of pain but battled hard to finish the game for his side.
Besides the uneven bounce, the pitch in New York has seen a lot of movement off the surface. The pitch has been deemed lethal for batters as fast bowlers have looked unplayable and have taken a lot of wickets.
