The Indian team clean sweeps Australia in the youth ODI and breaks the 30-year-old record. India’s Under-19 team has defeated Australia’s Under-19 team in the third ODI by 7 runs. In the first two matches, India defeated Australia by 7 wickets on 21st September and 9 wickets on 23rd September.
The third match of this ODI series between the teams of India and Australia was played in Puducherry. In this third ODI, the Indian team batted first and scored a total of 324 runs. But in response to the runs of the Indian team, the Australian team was able to score only 317 runs contributing to a record.
Australian captain Oliver Peake won the toss and decided to bowl first in the 3rd ODI. Batting first in this third ODI match, the Indian team (Indian U-19 Team) had a very good start. In this match, batsman Rudra Patel scored 77 runs while captain Mohammad Aman played a brilliant innings of 71 runs. Along with them, batsman Hardik Raj scored 30 runs in 18 balls and Chetan Shatama contributed 18 runs in 9 balls.
In this way, with the contribution of all these runs, the score of the Indian team (Indian U-19 Team) was able to put up a total of 324. Later in the second innings, when the Australian team came to chase this target, 2 players from their side scored centuries. But still, the Australian team could not make the chase successful. In this match, Australia team captain Oliver Peak played an innings of 111 runs while Hogan also contributed 104 runs.
30 years old record broken in IND vs AUS ODI series
The Indian team in the first innings scored 324 whereas Australia managed to score 317, the sum of both the teams was 641 runs. This became the highest aggregate total in a single match in the ODI of U19 teams. Before this, the highest total score in the Under-19 match was played between India and Australia in 1994, at that time also Australia toured India for the series.
In the previous match held in 1994, the Australian team (Australian U-19 Team) batted first and scored 317 runs in the first match played in Vadodara. In response to these runs, the Indian team (Indian U-19 Team) was able to score only 271 runs. The aggregate total score of these two teams was 588 runs then
Now after this, the total score of the recent ODI series final match between India and Australia at the Under-19 level was 641 runs. This has become a new record in the ODIs.
