West Indies easily triumphed in just 13.4 overs, with Chris Gayle scoring 50 runs to lead the way. Chris Gayle reached his half-century with three sixes and six fours before being out on the following ball. Gayle, who goes by the “Universe Boss,” broke the mark for the most sixes ever hit in a World Cup inning. He now has 40 career maximums, three more than former South African batsman AB de Villiers.
