The first international cricket match was played between Canada and the United States on September 24 and 25, 1844. Due to the extremely wet weather, which made it difficult to play on soggy, open fields, and a “surfeit of cricket,” the event did not go well. The last multilateral Test competition was the triangular Asian Test Championship in 1999. Since then, international Test cricket events are mainly organized as bilateral series. There are now more nations playing in Test cricket than ever before thanks to the addition of Pakistan in 1952, the West Indies in 1928, New Zealand in 1930, India in 1932, and the West Indies in 1928.
