The team which officially plays at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the south-eastern area of the inner city is considered as one of the successors of the New South Wales Blues. However, the team is currently led by their captain, Moises Henriques with Greg Shipperd, being the team’s coach.
However, the team has successfully registered three Big Bash League titles to their names (2011-12, 2019-20 and 2020-21). As a result of their excellent performance in the BBL, they were also given the opportunity of performing in the Champions League T20 tournament. Moreover, the Sydney Sixers have also managed to win the tournament in their very first attempt. Perhaps, the team will be encountering the Adelaide Strikers in their opening match on 14 December 2022.
