The Melbourne Stars are considered as an Australian T20 franchise cricket team, based in Melbourne, Victoria that participates in the Big Bash League competitions. They are also based in Melbourne, Victoria because of Cricket Australia’s decision to put up more than one team in the BBL. The team was, however, formed in 2011 ever since the Big Bash League came into existence. Currently, they are led by the captain, Glenn Maxwell, and under the guidance of coach, David Hussey.
The team, however, couldn’t achieve a single Big Bash League tournament, but have successfully been the runners-up in three seasons: 2015-16, 2018-19, and 2019-20. As per the schedule, the Melbourne Stars will be competing against the Sydney Thunder on 13 December 2022, which will be perhaps their first match of BBL 2022-23.
