The very first team to have registered such a breath-taking victory was Sydney Sixers. The team, however, managed to win a competition against the Perth Scorchers (2012 season). As per reports, on winning the toss, Sydney opted for batting first. Also, they got all out for 176 runs in exactly 20 overs. Though the Scorchers initially struggled to perform well, afterwards they bounced back. Unfortunately, Perth Scorchers were defeated by 1 run.
- Melbourne Renegades (1 run) vs Adelaide Strikers in 2014
The next similar incident took place during the 2014 season of Big Bash League. And this time, it was a competition between the Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers. On batting first, the Melbourne Renegades scored 155/6 in their 20 overs. Also, their team player Dwayne Bravo ended up as the top scorer in the inning with 47 runs. However, their opposition was in decent form during the match, but somehow lost to their contender with a margin of 1 run.
- Brisbane Heat (1 run) vs Melbourne Stars in 2014
In the same season, there was a battle between the Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars. And Brisbane Heat also achieved the competition with a margin of only 1 run. Chris Lynn from team Brisbane Heat was the top-scorer and the team successfully managed to register 164/8 to their names. But the Stars failed to come up with a good beginning. Though they tried to make it up in the later overs but were unfortunately defeated by Brisbane Heat with a margin of 1 run.
- Sydney Thunder (1 run) vs Melbourne Stars in 2015
The fourth heart-wrenching match was witnessed during the 2015 season, when Sydney Thunder competed against the Melbourne Stars. According to reports, Sydney Thunder managed to score 178/6 in their first innings. And, in response, Melbourne really had some excellent partnerships in the middle. Kevin Pietersen looked good for his 76 out of 42 deliveries. But after he was being bowled out, his team lost the momentum and fell short by just 1 run of the target.
- Perth Scorchers (1 run) vs Hobart Hurricanes in 2016
Another such breath-taking competition was witnessed in the 2016 season. It, however, came in a competition between the Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes. On batting first, Perth successfully made a competitive total of 173/5 in their 20 overs. And Michael Carberry played a good innings of 62 off 35 balls. The Hurricanes also performed well but were finally defeated by the opposition with a margin of 1 run.
