
In the past years, the Big Bash League has put incredible matches before the world. Moreover, it also went on to present the extraordinary performances of well-known cricket players around the world. As the upcoming season is drawing closer, here’s a list of the lowest BBL scores registered by different teams till date:
- Melbourne Renegades (57 all out) against Melbourne Stars in 2015
The Melbourne Renegades are said to lead the list in this regard. The team, however, went on to register their lowest score against Melbourne Stars during the 2015 season, in a competition that took place at Melbourne (Docklands). As per reports, Melbourne Stars successfully reached a total of 169/6 in their 20 overs, batting first. But their opposition completely failed to set a tough competition. The highest score was 10 runs by Tom Cooper from Melbourne Renegades, and no other batsmen could reach the 10-run mark. They were all knocked out for just 57 runs in 12.4 overs and lost the match by 112 runs.
- Melbourne Renegades (60 all out) against Sydney Sixers in 2020
The second team with lowest BBL score is Melbourne Renegades. However, it was a match between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Sixers in the 2020-21 season, where Sydney Sixers opted for batting first and registered a big total of 205/4 in their 20 overs. But the Melbourne Renegades were dismissed for 60 runs in 10.4 overs and also lost the match by 145 runs.
- Melbourne Stars (61 all out) against Sydney Sixers in 2021
The team, Melbourne Stars, however, is said to have the third highest BBL score to their names. As per reports, they failed to score minimum runs required to win a match during the 2021 season (it was a match between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers). The Sydney Sixers successfully scored a grand total of 213/4 in their 20 overs in the first innings, also Josh Philippe and skipper Moises Henriques were their top scorers. Unfortunately, the Melbourne Stars kept losing wickets frequently, thereby getting knocked out for just 61 runs in 11.1 overs, also losing the match by a massive 152 runs.
- Adelaide Strikers (68 all out) against Melbourne Stars in 2021
The Adelaide Strikers went on to register their lowest score in a competition between Adelaide Strikers and the Melbourne Stars (2021 season). According to reports, the Melbourne Stars managed to score a competitive total of 179/2 in their 20 overs. But their opposition failed to come up with an excellent response. The Adelaide Strikers lost its first two wickets for just 8 runs. Afterwards, they also lost their next eight wickets for just 24 runs, they got all out for 68 runs in 14.2 overs.
- Perth Scorchers (69 all out) against Melbourne Stars in 2012
The team to bag the fifth position in this regard is Perth Scorchers. Though the team is well known for its impeccable form and successful achievements, on some occasions they seemed to be out of form. However, the team scored its lowest in the Big Bash League season of 2012 (in a match between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars). The Melbourne Stars, however, on winning the toss opted for bowling first and Perth lost their first four wickets for just 16 runs and then got all out for 69 runs in 15.2 overs.

The list, however, mentions some of the excellent and most successful teams. Therefore, it can be said that even being recognized as one of the strongest and most competitive, various teams on many occasions couldn’t register good scores to their names. This time, the fans would be curious to know if those teams can learn from their mistakes and come up with a different strategy.
