BBL Records and Statistics: Highest 10th Wicket Partnership

An unbeaten stand of 61 runs achieved a memorable victory by Daniel Worrall and Danny Briggs’s highest 10th wicket partnership in the 5th match of the Big Bash League (BBL).

Cricket has been given a fresh lease of life since the Twenty20 format was first implemented. It has also positively impacted the other two formats: Because it delivers greater competition in a shorter amount of time, it has radically altered the mentality of a batsman and a bowler. T20 leagues are the next step in the evolution of cricket, which is headed in this direction as it currently stands.

Every year, many of the world’s countries host their unique T20 leagues, which have been played in. The Big Bash League in Australia is the exception, as it consistently ranks among the best leagues in the world. The Big Bash League (BBL) is one of the most exciting events in cricket and features many of the most well-known players in the game’s history. The following season of the BBL will get underway in December. And in this post, we will discuss the most successful 10th-wicket partnerships in the history of the BBL.

Daniel Worrall and Danny Briggs‘s Record-Breaking Partnership Highlight

In the eighth match of BBL 2020, the Hobart Hurricanes will take on the Adelaide Strikers. When these two teams met before, at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval, the Adelaide Strikers lost by just 11 runs.

Adelaide Strikers captain Peter Siddle won the toss and elected to bowl first in the opening game of the doubleheader. D’Arcy Short and Will Jacks’ 63-run opening partnership got the Hobart Hurricanes off to a great start.

D’Arcy Short put together a solid half-century after his batting partner, Will Jacks (34 off 25 balls), was dismissed in the ninth over. D’Arcy Short got back on track and scored 72 runs to lead his team’s batting effort. Short put together useful partnerships with Colin Ingram and Tim David, helping his team to a respectable 174-5 after 20 overs. When the Hurricanes’ powerplay bowlers struck early to give their team the lead, the Adelaide Strikers’ chase was disrupted within the first few overs. By the 15th over, most Adelaide Strikers fans had given up hope. The team was at 102/9.

In this crucial moment, the Strikers could almost pull off an unlikely victory thanks to a stand between Daniel Worrall (62*) and Danny Briggs (35*) that lasted only 39 balls. As the 10th wicket pair, they scored 61 runs without losing a wicket. James Faulkner’s final bowling scores for the Hurricanes were 3 and 21. Three of Johan Botha’s overs gave 20 runs and got rid of two batsmen. They were both important parts of their team’s bowling win.
