The Bangladesh Cricket Board is said to regulate the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which is a highly competitive short-game cricket league. The league is, however, conducted with a motive to find new, youthful Bangladeshi cricket talent. The ninth season of the BPL, which has already begun in January 2023 is recognised as the BPL 2023. The league will continue till February 16 of 2023, lasting more than one month.
The BPL 2023 is expected to feature a total of 7 clubs competing against one another in 46 games. The Rangpur Riders are said to make a comeback in the Bangladesh Premier League of 2023 after a two-season absence. Each league side is permitted to sign a minimum of 10 domestic players and 2 foreign players. Throughout the years, the majority of the BPL teams have managed to register incredible performances and records, here’s a glimpse of the past seasons.

- Chattogram Challengers: The Chittagong Challengers had a formidable team in their first season, with players like Mahmudullah Riyad, Dwayne Bravo, Kevon Cooper, and Jason Roy. Even though they had a formidable team on paper, they weren’t able to perform to their full ability on the field. The team, however, managed to secure the 5th position in 2012, 6th in 2015, 4th in 2016, 7th in 2017, 4th in 2019, and 3rd in both 2019-20, and 2022.
- Comilla Victorians: The Bangladesh Premier League‘s newest team was the Comilla Victorians. On October 22, 2015, the squad held its draft, during which it selected thirteen domestic players and three players from other countries. Based on facts, this team registered the 6th position in 2016, 3rd in 2017, and 5th in 2019-20.
- Dhaka team: Mashrafe Bin Mortaza served as the team’s captain while Ian Pont served as the head coach during the first two seasons. However, this group is regarded as the most successful after defeating the Barisal Burners to win the BPL 2012 championship, the league’s inaugural year. Further records about this team showed that it managed to secure the 4th position in 2015 and 2019-20. And also successfully registered the fifth position in 2022.
- Rajshahi Royals: Duronto Rajshahi was captained by Mushfiqur Rahim during the first season, and he had players like Marlon Samuels, Sabbir Rahman, and Mohammad Sami by his side. When the league stage began, the squad dominated, winning 7 of its 10 games and taking first place. This team, however, managed to register the 3rd position in 2012, 4th in 2013, 6th in 2017, and 5th in 2019.
