One league where talent levels are comparable among competing teams is the Indian Premier League. Each team has a great mix of experienced players and young players, adding the right amount of wisdom and vigour. This is one of the reasons the IPL is so competitive and forces teams to play to the very last ball in order to win. The player who performs better overall is the winner in every game. There have also been games where one team completely dominated the opposition in the middle of all of these. The emphasis of today’s stat will be on the teams that utterly outperformed the opposition and easily prevailed in the match.
Largest Winning Margin by Balls Remaining:
Find the IPL game with the largest runs-based victory margin. The top ten IPL teams are those whose batsmen scored runs quickly, set challenging targets for the opposition, took all ten wickets with a low score, and achieved the biggest wins by a wide margin throughout their IPLT20 careers.
Balls remaining | Margin | Team | Opposition | Venue | Date |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
87 | 8 wickets | MI | KKR | Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, India | 16 May 2008 |

MI
Mumbai Indians prevailed, keeping the most balls in play and winning by the greatest margin in IPL history. With 87 balls remaining, MI had won the match. When MI batted, they scored 48 runs in just 17 balls, restricting KKR to just 67 in 15.2 overs.
RR
Second place goes to the memorable KTK victory over RR. KKT was dismissed for 97 after Brad Hodge took four wickets in the chase. Brendon McCullum took the initiative and led his team to an 8-wicket victory with 76 balls left.
RCB
After recently defeating the Delhi Daredevils by a score of 10 wickets with 57 balls remaining, RCB has climbed to third place. The victory over RR in 2010 that they obtained with 56 balls left was improved upon. The only other team to win a game with ten wickets remaining after the most balls were bowled is RCB, who did so once against MI with 48 balls remaining alongside DC (10). Will there be a team that can beat MI’s record and win with more than 87 balls remaining in the bowling? In the IPL, anything is possible, even how unlikely it may appear. We hope to watch one of these games soon.
SRH
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Saturday, the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad suffered a devastating loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kane Williamson put the Faf du Plessis-led club into the batting order, and they quickly collapsed. They were eventually bowled for 68 in 16.1 overs, which was the second-lowest total in league history for RCB. The Sunrisers then overcame RCB with its largest loss (by balls remaining, 72) in 15 matches by chasing down the 69-run mark in 48 balls for a nine-wicket triumph and a move up to the second position on the points chart. Fourth-fastest run-chase victory in IPL history was achieved by the Sunrisers, who won by eight overs.
PBKS
They have taken part in similar occasions. Additionally, they have beaten Punjab Kings twice this season. The required run rate never seemed to be an issue, but the wickets column proved to be a significant setback as they suffered a terrible collapse in which they lost five wickets in the space of 14 runs from the fifth through the tenth over phase. Jitesh Sharma, who never ceases to amaze, battled alone but eventually gave up in the 18th over due to a lack of resources. If anything, his wicket prevented Punjab from suffering a lopsided loss, which might be important after their final game.
