- Ian Botham (England)
The top name on this list is former England player Ian Botham. The England all-rounder played in 116 ODI games during the course of his career but never managed to reach a century in ODI cricket. The right-handed batsman scored 5200 runs in his successful Test career’s 161 innings of play. He also had 14 hundreds in Tests, but he was never able to surpass the 100-run mark in ODIs. He scored nine ODI fifty, and his best ODI score was 79 runs. Botham scored 2113 runs in 106 ODI innings for an average of 23.21 and a strike rate of 79.10.
- Michael Vaughan (England)
Former England captain Michael Vaughan is the second player on this list. The right-handed batsman failed to reach a century in ODI cricket despite participating in 86 matches. During his outstanding Test career, he amassed 5719 runs at an average of 41.44 in 147 innings. Vaughan scored 18 hundreds in Test matches but was unable to surpass 100. He did score 16 fifties with the highest knock of an uninterrupted 90 runs. In 83 innings of ODI play, he scored 1982 runs at a strike rate of 68.39 and an average of 27.15.
- Graham Thorpe (England)
Former English cricketer Graham Thorpe comes in at number three on this list. Thorpe played for England in 82 ODIs, however he failed to achieve even a single century in ODI cricket. The left-handed batsman had a brilliant Test career, scoring 6744 runs at an average of 44.66 in 179 innings. He had 16 hundreds in tests but none in one-day internationals. Thorpe amassed 21 half-centuries in ODIs, with his highest score coming at 89 runs. In 77 innings of ODI play, he scored 2380 runs for an average of 37.18 and a strike rate of 71.17.
- Misbah-ul-Haq (Pakistan)
Former Pakistani cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq is another player who hasn’t reached a century in an ODI. The right-handed hitter never went beyond 100 runs in an ODI match despite scoring more than 5000 runs overall. In 149 innings of ODI play, he amassed 5122 runs, for an average of 43.40 and a strike rate of 73.75. Misbah amassed 42 half-centuries in ODIs, including a record-breaking 96 runs. Misbah was able to collect 5222 runs in 132 innings at an average of 46.62 while scoring 10 hundreds in Test matches.
- Dinesh Karthik (India)
Dinesh Karthik is another well-known batsman who has never reached a century in an ODI. The wicketkeeper-batsman has represented India in 94 one-day internationals since 2004, however he has never scored more than 100 runs in a match. The right-handed batsman had nine half-centuries in ODIs, with a top score of 79. In 79 innings of ODI play, he scored 1752 runs for a strike rate of 73.24 and an average of 30.20. Karthik’s only century in international cricket has come in tests.
