India’s dynamic opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February 2024, acknowledging his outstanding Test performances against England. Jaiswal, 22, showcased extraordinary form, scoring back-to-back double centuries in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot, the latter matching the record for most sixes in a Test innings with 12. His contributions played a crucial role in India’s series turnaround, ending the month with a staggering 560 runs at an average of 112.
Jaiswal’s achievement also marks him as the third-youngest batter globally to record two double centuries in Tests, following legends Sir Donald Bradman and Vinod Kambli. Additionally, he has claimed the top spot in the leading run-scorer list in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.

Joining Jaiswal in the nominations are New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka. Williamson, known for his consistency, played a pivotal role in New Zealand’s historic Test series victory over South Africa. He amassed 403 runs in two Tests, securing the Player of the Series accolade with twin centuries in the first Test and a vital 133 in the second innings at Hamilton.
Nissanka, in his first ICC Player of the Month nomination, showcased brilliance in Sri Lanka’s ODIs and T20Is against Afghanistan. He kicked off the month with the first-ever ODI double-century for Sri Lanka, scoring an unbeaten 210 in 139 balls. Nissanka continued his fine form, contributing significantly in other matches and ending the month with 346 ODI runs and 91 T20I runs.

In the ICC Women’s Player of the Month category, UAE’s Kavisha Egodage and Esha Oza have been shortlisted alongside Australia’s Annabel Sutherland. Kavisha’s all-round performance, scoring 218 runs and taking eight wickets in the Asian Cricket Council’s Women’s Premier Cup, earned her recognition. Esha Oza, the UAE skipper, claimed the Player of the Tournament award, topping the run-scoring charts with 249 runs at an average of 62.25. Annabel Sutherland’s record-breaking 210 off 256 balls in a women’s Test against South Africa, along with her bowling contributions, secured her a spot in the nominations.
