The much-awaited West Indies vs South Africa Test series is all set to kickstart from Wednesday (August 7th) to Sunday (August 11th) at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
The high-voltage action will then shift to Guyana, where the National Stadium will play hosts for the 2nd Test match from August 15th to August 19th before the three-match T20I series, which will conclude the tour the following week in Tarouba.
West Indies’ Kemar Roach will be making his return to the squad as vice-captain Alzarri Joseph has been rested to manage workload. Kevin Sinclair has also been excluded from the squad as he continues his recovery from an injury.
Talking about the Proteas, the visitors have named a strong squad featuring the likes of Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, and Tristan Stubbs among other big names.
It has to be noted that the two-match Test series will be a part of the World Test Championship cycle. The Windies are currently sitting at the bottom of the table with a point percentage of 22.22 following consecutive defeats to England. On the other hand, South Africa is currently sitting in the 7th position with a point percentage of 25%.
