Virat Kohli Meets “Maaro Mujhe”-Fame Fan Following India’s Asia Cup Victory Over Pakistan

Virat Kohli appears in a viral video on social media where he meets Momin Saqib, a Pakistani influencer who gained notoriety for saying “Maaro mujhe maaro,” which quickly went viral.

The Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan on Sunday was a perfect nail-biter for the spectators because it was so close. India eventually prevailed in the last-over thriller by five wickets, but not before both teams experienced a true roller-coaster ride. The crowd was on the edge of their seats until India’s Hardik Pandya hit a six to win the game with six runs needed off the final three balls.

The friendly interactions between players from both teams and their supporters gave the India-Pakistan game extra flavour. Virat Kohli greeted former international pacer Wasim Akram before the game, whereas Hardik Pandya hugged Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan during the match.

Another video of Kohli is currently trending on social media. In it, the Indian batter meets Pakistani influencer Momin Saqib, who shot to fame after saying “Maaro mujhe maaro,” which was later turned into a meme. Notably, Saqib had expressed his disappointment following India’s 89-run victory over Pakistan (DLS method) in the 2019 ODI World Cup group stage.

In terms of the match, Hardik Pandya delivered a special all-round performance as India held their nerves to beat archrivals Pakistan by five wickets in their Asia Cup opener in Dubai on Sunday. Under intense pressure, Hardik (3/25 in 4 overs) demonstrated his high value as his well-placed short balls and Bhuvneshwar’s 4 for 25 assisted India in bowling out Pakistan for 147.

The middle order was under additional pressure because India’s seasoned top-three struggled during what should have been an easy chase. A 52-run stand between Hardik (33 not out off 17) and Ravindra Jadeja (35 off 29) put India on the verge of a historic victory. India won the match thanks to the star all-three rounder’s fours off Haris Rauf off the 19th over.
