Indian cricket sensation Virat Kohli added another remarkable achievement to his illustrious career on November 30. He became the fourth player in history to reach 27,000 runs in international cricket across all formats.
Virat Kohli accomplished this milestone during Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah celebrated this achievement on X, stating, “Another towering milestone in the illustrious career of Virat Kohli as he crosses 27,000 international runs! Virat Kohli Surpasses Tendulkar
In doing so, Virat Kohli surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who reached 27,000 runs in 623 innings. Kohli achieved this landmark in just 594 innings, making him the only player in cricket history to accomplish this feat in under 600 innings.
The other players who have scored 27,000 runs in international cricket are Sri Lanka’s former captain Kumar Sangakkara, who took 648 innings, and the legendary Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who reached this milestone in 650 innings.
Statistical Highlights
When it comes to statistics, Sachin Tendulkar, known as the ‘God of Cricket,’ holds the record for the most runs in international cricket with a total of 34,357 runs.
Following him is Virat Kohli, who has accumulated 27,012 international runs, thanks in part to his impressive 47 runs off just 35 balls against Bangladesh at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium. Currently, Kohli has played 594 innings in international cricket.
Before his 594th innings, Virat Kohli had amassed 8,871 Test runs in 114 matches with an average of 48.74. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he has scored 13,906 runs in 295 matches, maintaining an impressive average of 58.18. Additionally, he has 4,188 runs from 125 T20 Internationals at an average of 48.69.
Right behind Kohli in the all-time list is former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara, who scored 28,016 runs, while former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has a total of 27,483 runs.
