Gustav McKeon

Gustav McKeon is a French cricketer who scored the first of his two consecutive centuries against Switzerland on the 25th of July in an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier match. The right-handed batter scored 109 runs in 61 balls before he was run out. In his knock, he smashed five fours and nine sixes. His century went in vain as France lost the game on the final ball of the match as Switzerland chased down the target of 158 runs. Ali Nayyer from Switzerland won the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance. He took two wickets in the first innings before playing a scintillating cameo in the second innings scoring 48 runs in just 16 balls hitting three fours and fours sixes.

McKeon’s next century came later in the tournament in a clash against Norway. Batting first, the right-handed opener played an even better knock and scored 101 runs in just 53 balls hitting five fours and eight sixes. He was dismissed by Ahmadullah Shinwari. McKeon’s knock was the only positive for France in the first innings as the second-highest scorer from the lineup was Lingeswaran Canessane with 15 runs to his name. McKeon’s century did not go in vain this time. McKeon after scoring a quick century wasn’t done as he went on to record his best bowling figures taking 3 wickets while conceding just 27 runs in his four overs. France won the match by 11 runs and McKeon won the Player of the Match award thanks to his all-round performance.

Rilee Rossuow

Rilee Rossuow is a destructive top-order batter from South Africa. When South Africa toured India in 2022 for a three-match T20I and ODI series, the left-handed batter was having a poor time when the third T20I came. Rossuow had registered two ducks in Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati before coming to Indore for the final T20I.

India won the toss in the third T20I and elected to field first. South African skipper, Temba Bavuma was dismissed in the fifth and that’s when Rossuow entered the crease. He remained not out and scored 100 runs in just 48 balls hitting seven fours and eight sixes. His knock helped South Africa to reach a total of 227 runs in their 20 overs. India failed to chase down the total and lost the match by 49 runs despite a few cameos from Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Deepak Chahar.

Rossuow’s next century came in Sydney in the ICC T20 World Cup against Bangladesh. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first and once again South African skipper, Bavuma was dismissed early in the innings this time in the first over itself. Rossuow once again played fearlessly and scored 109 runs in just 56 balls hitting seven fours and eight sixes. He was dismissed by Shakib al Hasan in the penultimate over of the innings. Bangladesh was bowled out in the second innings for just 101 runs as South Africa won the match by 104 runs. Rossuow was awarded the Player of the Match award for his ton.
