The Group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 is over and we have eight teams going into the next round of Super 8. The eight teams have been divided into two groups. The top two teams in each group would then clash in the semi-finals.
Before the commencement of the Super 8 round, this is how we have rated the teams out of 5 stars:

Australia

Australia are a dominant force when it comes to the big international stage. They are the favourites to win the T20 World Cup 2024. They are back from winning the ICC Test Championship and 2023 World Cup.
The Aussies remained undefeated in the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 and topped Group B.
Led by Mitchell Marsh, Team Australia is in top-notch form. All-rounder Marcus Stoinis had a pleasant run scoring 156 runs in three innings, averaging 78 at the strike rate of 190.2. On the other hand, Adam Zampa has picked nine wickets in four matches.
The over-all Australian team looks like a formidable unit.
West Indies

The two time champions have upped their game in the T20 Cricket World Cup. Having failed to qualify for the 2023 ICC World Cup, the West Indian team regrouped and came back strong as a team.
The West Indies team won all matches of the group stage to reach the Super 8. Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford, Andre Russell, Alzarri Joseph and all have shown great character.
Playing on the home turf would be an added advantage to them.

India

Team India topped Group A by winning all the encounters, including the marquee match against Pakistan. Indian bowlers have been in brilliant form. They had been the guiding light to the victories.
Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh have been phenomenal in the bowling department, while Rishabh Pant took care of the batting line up. However, the below-par performance of Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, is a matter of concern.
England

Defending champion England did not have a smooth ride to the Super 8 round. A lot depended on rain and Australia won against Scotland.
England chased down the target of 47 set by Oman in 3.1 overs losing two wickets.
The arrival of Jofra Archer has given a boost to England’s bowling line-up while opener Joss Butler has been in splendid form.
Afghanistan

The rise of the Afghanistan team in world cricket is spell-binding. They have had an incredible run in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Fazalhaq Farooqi have played well for the Afghan team to guide them to the Super 8 round.
They caused a major upset by beating New Zealand.
South Africa

South Africa had a rough sail to reach the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. Although they remained undefeated in the group, the wins did not come easy. They had won close matches. They won against Bangladesh by four runs and Nepal by 1.
South Africa have not won any ICC title so far. ICC trophies have been elusive to them. The Proteas would like to turn the table this time around.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh looks like a decent team. The Asian Tigers started the tournament with a win against Sri Lanka. They gave a tough fight to South Africa but lost by four runs.
Mustafizur Rahman , Shakib Al Hassan have given match winning performances to Bangladesh.
USA

The USA is playing their maiden ICC tournament. As a co-host of the T20 World Cup, they automatically qualified for the event.
Entering as an underdog, the USA cricket team gave one of the major upsets of the tournament, defeating Pakistan in a super over thriller.
USA’s success has been fulfilling and heart-warming. It would be worth watching how they continue their dream run in the Super 8 stage.
