The SA20 2025 auction took place in Cape Town on Tuesday as all the six franchises finalised their squads ahead of the third edition, which begins on January 9 next year.
Five franchises completed the requirement of having 19 players in their squad after the auction. Joburg Super Kings have signed 18 players so far and are yet to pick their wildcard player.
188 players from South Africa and around the world registered for the SA20 2025 auction in which only 13 slots were up for grabs. South Africa opener Reeza Hendricks fetched the highest bid at the SA20 2025 auction, with MI Cape Town securing his services for a whopping Rand 4.3 million. Among the other big earners were England pacer Richard Gleeson and West Indies batter Evin Lewis.
Durban’s Super Giants filled up their only slot by notching up West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph at Rand 425,000, who had originally gone unsold.
