PM Modi and Team India perform the National Anthem at the Narendra Modi Stadium

To memorialise 75 years of friendship between India and Australia through cricket, Prime Ministers Modi and Anthony Albanese graced the 4th Test with their presence.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the Team India players in singing the national anthem ahead of the fourth and final Test match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The match is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where both Prime Ministers are present to witness the first session. Prior to the match, both PM Modi and Australian PM Anthony Albanese participated in the singing of their respective national anthems.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah presented PM Modi with a memento during a ceremony at the stadium in Gujarat, which is the prime minister’s home state. PM Modi also presented a special cap to Team India captain Rohit Sharma, while PM Anthony Albanese presented a cap to Australia captain Steve Smith. The prime ministers are celebrating 75 years of friendship between India and Australia through cricket by attending the fourth Test match.

In terms of the match itself, Australia’s stand-in captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat first at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Team India made one change to their playing XI as captain Rohit Sharma replaced Mohammad Siraj with Mohammed Shami.
