PAK vs BAN: Pakistan hosted a series of Test matches against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi Stadium, Karachi. Pakistan had a record of being unbeaten by the Bangladesh team till now in the test; however, the scenario changed and Bangladesh made history by pounding their first win against Pakistan in the first match of the ongoing PAK vs BAN series with a 10-wicket win.
PAK vs BAN – Pakistan’s first loss against Bangladesh in a Test
Pakistan’s side was confident enough at the initial stage of the match till day 2, as they declared their innings at 448 runs with 4 wickets in hand, and winning or drawing the match seemed like a cakewalk. The Bangladeshi batsman fought back and scored 565, which included the heroic innings of Mushfiqur Rahim’s 191 runs and Shadman Islam’s 93 runs, helping Bangladesh to bounce back.
Later in the second inning of Pakistan, Bangladeshi bowlers made a comeback in the game, dismantling the batting line-up of Pakistan at a mere 146 runs. Spinners got the game back in Bangladesh’s side, which included Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s 4 wickets in 11.5 overs and Shakib Al Hasan’s 3 wickets in 17 overs.
Bangladesh bowled just 55.5 overs to dismiss the 2nd innings of Pakistan and got a tiny target of 30 runs. Chasing the target felt like romping on a swing, and Bangladesh chased 30 runs with all 10 wickets in hand; that’s how the Bangladeshi registered their historic win.
Many cricket experts were analyzing the reason behind Pakistan’s loss not using spinners to their full potential and pacers just bowling 130 kmph on average, which shows the lack of commitment and gives an edge to the opponent to take advantage of it. Bangladesh’s side used their bowlers to their maximum potential by deciding to bowl from which end and length for different batsmen.
Pakistan adds Kamran Ghulam and Abrar Ahmed against Bangladesh for a better approach
Now Pakistan’s mentors and heads have consulted and added two players who are spinners and one is an allrounder to provide with the depth at the end in the second PAK vs BAN Test match. Pakistan adds Kamran Ghulam and Abrar Ahmed against Bangladesh for the 2nd Test. Kamran Ghulam is an all-rounder who has played first-class cricket, but now he is getting an opportunity to play for Pakistan in the test.
Whereas, Abrar Ahmed is a young bowler of Pakistan who has played 6 test matches for Pakistan till now and has 38 wickets in his career. Pakistan is looking forward to reconciling their errors in the first match and making changes to turn the result in their favour for drawing the series.
Along with this strategy of Pakistan, Pakistan adds Kamran Ghulam and Abrar Ahmed against Bangladesh. They have called Amir Jamal into the squad as well. He was out of the series due to fitness issues and is still not confirmed to play the second PAK vs BAN match, but it is being speculated that he might be included in the playing eleven as looking forward to the conditions.
The pitch for the second PAK vs BAN Test match looks a bit green and grassy, which will give an added benefit to the seamers in this match. Amir Jamal is an all-rounder who has played 3 matches in his career, and that too against Australia, where he took 6 wickets in one innings. With the bat as well, he has contributed 143 runs till now, but it’s too soon to judge the talent of a player within these limited opportunities.
Pakistan squad for the second PAK vs BAN Test:
Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamir Jamal* (subject to fitness), Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
