The New York Strikers extended their winning spree in the Abu Dhabi T10 on Tuesday, notching up their fourth consecutive victory by overcoming Team Abu Dhabi in a thrilling encounter.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz continued his explosive batting form, contributing a swift 41 off 26 balls, while Odean Smith’s late onslaught with a 17 off 7 balls propelled the Strikers to a formidable total of 110/5 on a challenging batting surface.
In the bowling department, Sunil Narine and Mohammad Amir played pivotal roles in restricting Team Abu Dhabi during the chase. Narine secured figures of 16/2, while Amir conceded just 8 runs in his 2 overs. Team Abu Dhabi could only manage 86/5 in their 10 overs, resulting in a 24-run victory for the Strikers.
Post-match, Sunil Narine commended captain Kieron Pollard for his strategic decisions, emphasizing the team’s collective effort in achieving success this season. Narine highlighted the camaraderie within the squad, praising the different players who have stepped up in each game.
Narine shared his thoughts, saying, “It has been total teamwork this season. Every day it’s a different guy who is performing for the team. Everyone is putting up their hands. Everyone is enjoying everyone’s success, and that has been the key this season.”

Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir echoed a similar sentiment, acknowledging the joy of victory but emphasizing the long journey ahead. Amir stressed the need to maintain momentum, stating, “It’s still a long way to go. We need to win both our games to finish on top. We need to carry this momentum.”
