Australia’s dynamic all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell, expressed his unwavering commitment to participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) until the very twilight of his cricketing career. Touching down at Melbourne Airport ahead of the Big Bash League (BBL) season, Maxwell delved into the profound influence the IPL has had on shaping his cricketing journey, underscoring his intention to continue until he “can’t walk anymore.” As the Melbourne Stars’ skipper in the inaugural game of BBL 13, Maxwell is geared up for a face-off against the Brisbane Heat in Brisbane.

Reflecting on the impact of the IPL, Glenn Maxwell shared his sentiments with a foreign journalist, stating, “The IPL will probably be the last tournament I ever play… It’s been so beneficial to my entire career – the people, the coaches, the international players; it’s just the greatest learning experience.”

Maxwell, who has been an integral part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2021, emphasized the invaluable experience of sharing the dressing room with cricket stalwarts like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. “Rubbing shoulders with AB and Virat for two months, talking to them while watching other games. It’s just the greatest learning experience any player could ask for,” he added, expressing his hope for more Australian players to benefit from the IPL’s unique conditions.
