The prestigious willow could be auctioned off, considering it led to one of Australia’s greatest victories in modern-day cricket.
For the unversed, Marnus Labuschagne played an instrumental role in guiding the Australian cricket team to victory in the final clash of World Cup 2023 in front of the packed Narendra Modi Stadium.
Chasing a target of 241 runs, the Pat Cummins-led Australian cricket team was in a spot of bother at 47 for losing three wickets in seven overs. With the dismissals of big wickets – Steve Smith, David Warner, and Mitchell Marsh. the responsibility fell on the shoulders of Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head.

While Marnus played the anchor’s role as he scored a dogged half-century, on the other hand, Travis Head played with an attacking mindset. Marnus focused on rotating the strike and played with a strike rate of 52.73, smashing 58* runs off 110 balls.
Travis Head scored a match-winning knock of 137 runs off 120 balls, smashing 15 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 114.16. Though, Travis Head was dismissed in the 43rd over, however, his dismissal didn’t make any difference to the game as the Australians had already taken the driver’s seat.
Travis Head was awarded the Player of the Match (POTM) award for his match-winning knock. Head’s performance even overshadowed the efforts of Marnus Labuschagne.
All thanks to the brilliant 192-run partnership stand between Labuschagne and Head, the Australian cricket team was able to win the ODI World Cup 2023 after defeating India by 6 wickets.
