Highest Run-Scorers In IPL: Virat Kohli has, once again, made history during the IPL season of 2026. The renowned batsman who plays for the Royal Challengers has accomplished a feat that no other batsman is likely to come close to in achieving.
On April 27, against the Delhi Capitals in Delhi, Kohli completed 9,000 Runs in the IPL. He became the first batsman ever to accomplish this milestone in the IPL during his 275th Match when he scored 11 runs to hit 9,000 runs during the last ball of the sixth over of his innings.
Virat Leads the List of Highest Run-Scorers In IPL
At the top of the chart is Virat Kohli, who has been able to achieve the feat of being the top run-scorer for the IPL. However, he is not alone at the top; there are others who come next, including Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, and KL Rahul.
The second person on the list is Rohit Sharma, who has scored more than 7,000 runs in 276 games, followed by Shikhar Dhawan, who has played over 222 games but scored more than 6,700 runs before retiring from his IPL career. In third position comes David Warner, who has scored over 6,500 runs in 184 games, surpassing all overseas players.

Virat Kohli had an opportunity to set another major record during the match played against the Delhi Capitals. However, the Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down the target of 76 runs in just 6.3 overs before he could do so. Had Kohli scored just 27 more runs in this match, he would have become the first batsman in the world to complete 1200 runs against a single team in T20 cricket.
