Batsmen continued to struggle scoring during the Powerplay phase.The wickets produced swing, seam movement and a significant amount of bounce, creating difficulty for batsmen to score runs.
Bowlers stuck to their lines and lengths which were also making it difficult for batsmen to score. They only managed to score 14 runs in 6 overs and lost 2 key wickets.

The beginning of the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Pune was much the same, with just as much tension and apprehension throughout.
