The Qalandars, captained by Shaheen Shah Afridi, were the outstanding side in the league stage, finishing first with 14 points and a net run rate of +0.915. They were the first club to make the playoffs and secure a spot in the top two.
The Sultans, on the other hand, began their season with four victories in five matches at home in Multan. They then went on a three-match losing run. Mohammad Rizwan’s side made a comeback by winning by four wickets after chasing down 243 against Peshawar Zalmi.

The Sultans needed a win in their penultimate league game to move from third to second in the points rankings. Instead of folding under pressure, they overcame Quetta Gladiators by nine runs, propelling Islamabad United to third place in the rankings.
