Jasprit Bumrah and Yashasvi Jaiswal have made a big jump in the latest ICC Test Rankings released on Wednesday (October 02). Both the players performed brilliantly in the recently played 2-match Test series (IND vs. BAN Test Series) against Bangladesh and played an important role in helping their team win the series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the highest run scorer in the recently concluded two-match Test series against Bangladesh with 189 runs. Apart from this, Jasprit Bumrah was jointly ranked first with Ravichandran Ashwin in the list of highest wicket-taking bowlers in that series with 11 wickets.

India’s main fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, has reached number 1 in the latest ICC bowling rankings released on Wednesday (October 22). Due to this, veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has now slipped to second place. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored half-centuries in both innings of the last Test match played against Bangladesh in Kanpur, for which he was also named Player of the Match. Thanks to those innings, Jaiswal has jumped two places in the latest ICC batting rankings and has moved from fifth to third place. Now he has come to third place after Joe Root (899 rating points) and Kane Williamson (829 rating points) with 729 rating points.

However, Rishabh Pant, who reached sixth place in the ICC batting rankings after scoring a brilliant century in the first Test played against Bangladesh in Chennai, has suffered a major setback. Now he has come to 9th place in the latest ICC rankings with 718 rating points. Apart from this, Virat Kohli has moved up 6 places after the second Test and has reached the sixth position. Apart from this, Rohit Sharma has slipped five places to 15th and Shubman Gill has slipped two places to 16th position.
