Phil Salt’s run out in RCB vs DC IPL 2025 match sparks fan outrage as Virat Kohli faces backlash. What really happened during that risky single?

IPL 2025, RCB vs DC: In the Indian Premier League 2025, a match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was played on Thursday. Match number 24 took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. A run out incident during the match became a big talking point on social media.

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt opened the innings for RCB and gave the team a strong start. In just 3.5 overs, they made a fast partnership of 61 runs. Salt scored 37 runs from 17 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. But in the fourth over, a run out changed the situation.

Salt played a shot towards the cover on Axar Patel’s ball and tried to take a quick single. But Kohli sent him back. While turning to return, Salt slipped on the pitch, and DC fielders ran him out easily. It was RCB’s first wicket of the match.

Virat Kohli also couldn’t score much. He got out in the sixth over after scoring just 22 runs. RCB made 64 runs in the powerplay, but after that, DC bowlers made a strong comeback and didn’t let RCB score big.

RCB finished with 163/7 in 20 overs

Under Rajat Patidar’s captaincy, RCB managed to score only 163/7 in 20 overs. Patidar scored 25 runs, but the other batters couldn’t do much. Devdutt Padikkal scored just 1 run, Liam Livingstone 4 runs, and Jitesh Sharma also got out for 4.

This match once again showed how a small mistake like a run out can change the game, especially when a player is in good form. Salt’s wicket was a big loss for RCB, and Virat Kohli had to face the anger of fans online.
