Sunil Narine (8 four-fers)

Sunil Narine just like most record lists of IPL sits at the top of the record for picking up the most four-wicket hauls. Narine has been part of the cash-rich league for over a decade playing for two-time champions, Kolkata Knight Riders. In 162 matches, the mystery spinner has picked up 163 wickets. He has also picked 8 four-wicket hauls and converted one of them into a five-wicket haul. Despite, bowling more than 600 overs his economy rate of 6.73 Runs Per Over (RPO) is astonishing.

Lasith Malinga (7 four-fers)

The slingy action of Lasith Malinga has troubled many batters in the international circuit. IPL batters were no different as the Sri Lankan picked 170 wickets playing for Mumbai Indians in 122 matches. He has 7 four-fers to his name including the best figures of 5/13. While Narine’s economy was astonishing it was Malinga’s strike rate that made him stand away from the rest. Malinga had a strike rate of just 16.62 which meant that the fast bowler took a wicket on average in less than three overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal (7 four-fers)

It is no surprise that the highest wicket-taker of the league holds the joint-second place on this list. Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 187 wickets including 7 four-fers. In the upcoming season, Chahal will fancy himself to overtake Lasith Malinga and even become the first player to pick 200 wickets in the IPL. In spite of playing at the Chinnaswamy Stadium for a major part of his career, Chahal’s feat of 187 wickets gets even more appreciable.

Kagiso Rabada (6 four-fers)

Kagiso Rabada has been one of the most potent weapons for South Africa in international cricket and although he has played fewer matches than most players on this list he ranks fourth. The right-arm fast bowler has picked 106 wickets including 6 four-fers but is yet to convert any of these four-fers into a five-wicket haul. He is the only bowler on this list to have a strike rate (14.77) lesser than 15.

Amit Mishra (5 four-fers)

The veteran leg-spinner, Amit Mishra ranks fifth on the list of taking the most four-fers with five four-wicket hauls. He has picked 173 wickets and is still an active player. Mishra has three hat-tricks to his name which is the most anyone has picked in the league’s history.

Andrew Tye (4 four-fers)

Andrew Tye burst on the IPL scene by picking up a fifer on his debut for Gujarat Lions. That remained his only fifer in the IPL but he went on to pick 3 more four-fers. In 30 matches, Tye picked up 42 wickets at an impressive strike rate of 16.28.

Lakshmipaty Balaji (4 four-fers)

Lakshmipaty Balaji has been an unknown commodity in the Indian cricket community for a while but there was a time when he proved to be quite a handful for the opposition batters. The right-arm fast bowler played 73 matches in the cash-rich league and picked up 76 wickets including 4 four-fers at a strike-rate of 19.90.

Chris Morris (4 four-fers)

Chris Morris at times has been a hot property in IPL earning millions at various IPL auctions. Morris played 81 matches picking up 95 wickets including 4 four-fers.

Mohit Sharma (4 four-fers)

Mohit Sharma recently rediscovered himself as a death-over specialist after being without a team for a while. The 2023 runner-up with Gujarat Titans has played 100 matches and picked up 119 wickets in the IPL including 4 four-fers.

Ravindra Jadeja (4 four-fers)

Ravindra Jadeja has been one of the best all-rounders in the league’s history. In the 226 matches, Jadeja has played he has picked 152 wickets including 4 four-fers.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4 four-fers)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is unlucky to not have more four-wicket hauls to his name as the Indian pacer has been fantastic in the IPL. He has bowled 12 maiden overs in the tournament which has helped his bowling partners to rack up more wickets. Kumar has taken 170 wickets in 160 matches including 4 four-fers.
