Kolkata Knight Riders struggled with the bat, losing early wickets and finishing at 99/9. Only Angkrish Raghuvanshi (26) and Ramandeep Singh (22) offered some resistance, while Mumbai’s debutant Ashwani Kumar starred with 4/24.
In response, Mumbai Indians had a strong start with a 46-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma (13) and Ryan Rickelton. After Rohit’s dismissal, Will Jacks (16) and Suryakumar Yadav (27*) guided MI to an easy victory with eight wickets in hand and 7 overs to spare.
