
The excitement is building up as the India men’s U19 cricket team prepares to participate in a thrilling tri-series against under-19 teams from South Africa and Afghanistan, setting the stage for the upcoming ICC Men’s U19 World Cup. Scheduled to take place from December 19 to January 10, 2024, at the Old Edwardians Cricket Club in Johannesburg, each team will face off against the others twice.
India U19 is set to kickstart its campaign against Afghanistan U19 on December 29, 2023, followed by a clash with South Africa U19 on January 02, 2024. The much-anticipated final is scheduled for January 10, creating an exciting lead-up to the prestigious ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided details of the tri-series schedule, highlighting India U19’s quest for success in this crucial warm-up series.

The ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 is set to unfold in South Africa from January 19 to February 11, featuring 16 teams competing in four different locations. India, the reigning champions, will be led by batsman Uday Saharan, who will spearhead the team’s efforts to secure a sixth U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup title.
With a rich history of success in the tournament, India has won five U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup titles, making them the most decorated team in the event’s history. The competition will see the 16 teams divided into four groups, engaging in 41 matches to determine the champion.
The India U19 squad for the tri-series includes a mix of talented players, with Uday Saharan leading the charge as captain. The team is well-prepared, comprising players like Arshin Kulkarni, Adarsh Singh, Rudra Mayur Patel, and others who are eager to make their mark on the international stage.
