RCB’s IPL Win

In the IPL 2025 final of RCB vs PBKS, Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a satisfactory total of 190 runs on a black soil pitch. Punjab Kings were full of confidence after defeating Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2, with a successful chase of 204 runs in 19 overs.

The skipper Shreyas Iyer aka ‘Sarpanch Saab’ single handedly built an innings from the start and with the help of his 83* runs along with short cameos of fellow team mates like Jos Inglis and Nehal Wadhera PBKS sealed the ticket to final.

In the finals, RCB looked different as their bowling line-up performed in the need of an hour. Krunal Pandya was their hero of the match as he bowled 4 overs at an expense of 17 runs and took 2 wickets. Shreyas Iyer got out early in the over of Romario Shepherd with an outside edge at just 1 run.

After that, RCB restricted PBKS at 184 runs, 6 runs short of the total, and after 18 years, Bengaluru won the title of IPL.

In this season, for the first time, CSK ended the season at the last of the points table, although CSK won the fair play award of IPL 2025, but this season was forgettable for Chennai. The skipper, Ruturaj Singh, looked good in the initial matches but got ruled out of the season due to a finger injury.

Although it was good news for CSK that Ms Dhoni took over the captaincy for the team after Ruturaj bailed out, CSK just managed to win their last game of the season with a huge total of 230 runs against Gujarat Titans, which was also the 5th highest total of Chennai.

Forgettable records by CSK this season:

  • RCB won after 17 years in Chepauk
  • Delhi won after 15 years in Chepauk
  • SRH won for the first time in Chepauk

Good season for the uncapped players

  • Vignesh Puthur -Rs 30 lakh
  • Shubham Dubey – Rs 5.8 crore
  • Ashutosh Sharma – Rs 3.80 Crore
  • Vipraj Nigam – Rs 50 lakh
  • Digvesh Singh Rathi – Rs 30 lakh
  • Priyansh Arya – Rs 3.80 crore
  • Sai Kishore – Rs 2 crore
  • Sai Sudharsan – Rs 8.50
  • Angkrish Raghuvanshi – Rs 20 lakh
  • Shashank Singh – Rs 5.50 crore
  • Yash Dayal – Rs 5 crore

Along with getting huge amounts and opportunities, the domestic heroes also shone bright in this season and proved to be more crucial than the international players. Shashank Singh was an absolute freak throughout the season, and in the finals, his 61-run knock went in vain in 30 balls, where PBKS lost the match by 6 runs.

Digvesh Rathi was one of the most economical bowlers of the entire IPL 2025 season, with a better percentage of bowling a length ball. Yash Dayal bowled brilliantly for RCB, especially against CSK.

He was phenomenal. Just like the previous season of IPL, where RCB kicked off CSK from qualifying for the playoffs, in this as well, Yash defended 15 runs in the last over against the hard-hitter of CSK, Dhoni.

The fine never stopped him from celebrating his wicke. He continued his notebook celebration till the end, until he got banned in one match due to his heated exchange with Abhishek Sharma on the field, where Abhishek scored 59 off 20 balls and got provoked by the aggressive celebration of Digvesh.

Shreyas became the only player to lead three franchises and take them to the finals of the IPL. Iyer led Delhi Capitals to the finals first time in 2020, won the 2024 title for KKR, and took PBKS to the finals after 11 years.

He was close to winning a title again with a different franchise and name, a record of getting two consecutive wins as a captain with a different team, but fate was in favor of RCB this season.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi

The two fiery teammates of the India U-19 team, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, stood out exceptionally well in their debut season.
