GT20 Canada: The Toronto Nationals clinched the GT20 Canada title emphatically securing a mind-blowing eight-wicket victory over the Montreal Tigers in the finals.
Toronto’s bowlers laid the foundation for the triumph, restricting Montreal to a low 96 runs. Jason Behrendorff and Romario Shepherd scored three and two wickets, respectively, to dismantle the Tigers’ batting lineup.
Chasing the small target, the Nationals batters made light work of the chase, reaching the final total with eight wickets and five overs left. Andries Gous and Rassie van der Dussen anchored the innings with composed half-centuries, ensuring a comfortable victory.

Openers: George Munsey, Nick Hobson
George Munsey from the Brampton Wolves finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 218 runs at an impressive strike rate of 135.40. His opening partner, Nick Hobson, contributed a massive 158 runs with one half-century.

Middle Order and All-Rounders:
Reeza Hendricks, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Dilpreet Bajwa, Marcus Stoinis (C), Romario Shepherd and Sunil Narine
Reeza Hendricks provided calmness at number three for the Vancouver Knights, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz impressed behind the stumps and with the bat. Dilpreet Bajwa was a standout performer for the Montreal Tigers, amassing 206 runs, including a fast century.
Marcus Stoinis captain of the Surrey Jaguars, was a muscle man with both bat and ball, scoring 139 runs and claiming six wickets. Romario Shepherd the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, was instrumental in Toronto’s success. Sunil Narine’s spin prowess and batting flexibility made him an invaluable asset. He showed his power in IPL 2024 as well. Thats why he is this team and also the vice-captain of this team.
