In a significant boost for the Delhi Capitals, the franchise has officially confirmed that both Faf du Plessis and Tristan Stubbs have rejoined the squad for the rest of the IPL 2025. The news was announced on Saturday, ahead of DC’s clash against Gujarat Titans on 18 May at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The South African duo had previously flown back home because the IPL was suspended for a week due to military tensions between India and Pakistan. The return of the duo was announced in a press release, which stated, “JSW and GMR co-owned franchise Delhi Capitals on Saturday confirmed that Vice-captain Faf du Plessis and teammate Tristan Stubbs have rejoined the team ahead of the resumption of IPL 2025”

Delhi Capitals currently sits fifth on the points table with 13 points from 11 matches. DC must win at least two of their remaining matches to secure a playoff spot.
