England women’s team defeated Scotland by 10 wickets in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to top Group B. England’s Maia Bouchier and Danny Watt performed brilliantly and achieved the target in just 10 overs.

England women’s team crushed Scotland by 10 wickets in the Women’s T20 World Cup here on Sunday and strengthened their chances of making it to the semi-finals by topping their group. Scotland, who came out to bat first, could only score 109 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In response, England openers Maia Bouchier and Danny Watt Hodge performed brilliantly. Both of them also increased the team’s net run rate by achieving the target in just 10 overs. Bouchier hit several boundaries at the start of the innings and also got a lifeline in the beginning. She remained unbeaten after scoring 62 runs off 34 balls while Watt Hodge remained unbeaten after scoring 51 runs off 26 balls.
Mia Bouchier hit 12 fours in her innings while Dani Waite hit 7 fours. However, both the batsmen together did not hit a single six. Only 1 six was hit in this entire match. Which was hit by Scotland’s Alyssa Lister.
For England, Sophie Ecclestone (two wickets for 13 runs in four overs) was the most successful bowler of the day. Apart from this, Nat Sciver Brunt, Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean, and Daniel Gibson took 1-1 wickets.
For Scotland, Sarah Bryce (27 runs off 31 balls) and Katherine Bryce (33 runs off 28 balls) also contributed well. But the performance of these two, who made their debut in the tournament, was not enough for the team. Before the start of the match, England’s team was at the third position in the table.
